Dark Stag Kamisori Razor Black: Japanese shape with a rubber grip
Kamisori is the Japanese form of the classic razor: straight, short in the grip and made to work with short, controlled strokes. The Dark Stag Kamisori Razor in black brings that shape to the modern barber chair.
You bring it in for shaping the beard and moustache: marking out the line along the cheek, tightening up the upper lip, shaving the throat. Because you hold the razor close to the blade, you steer with your fingers instead of with your wrist.
The handle is of rubber. That keeps its hold in wet shaving, when lather and water make any smooth handle unreliable, and it gives steadiness in your hand during the fine movements along a contour.
The blade is chrome plated and can therefore go into disinfectant. For a business that works to the hygiene rules that is not a side issue but a condition: every blade used once, the holder cleaned in between.
You use it with double-edged blades that you break in half, for example Feather Double Edge or Derby Premium. Work with tightly stretched skin and a thin, well-whipped layer of lather; then the blade does the work and not the pressure.
