Gel Softly: day and night gel without fatty alcohol
Gel Softly is the gel variant in the Softly line by Medex. Where the creams in the same line are creamy, this is a gel — lighter in texture and without the greasy feel that some skins cannot tolerate.
Two things have deliberately been left out: fatty alcohol and perfume. Fatty alcohols are in many creams as a structuring agent, but they are not pleasant for every skin. That Medex leaves them out here is the reason this gel exists alongside the creams and not instead of them.
The gel holds moisture in the skin. The active substance is Glyceryl Caprylate, a moisturizer with a C8 carbon tail that takes care of that.
Medex calls the gel suitable for all skin types and especially for extra hypersensitive and ageing skin. You use it as both a day and a night gel, after cleansing.
In the salon this is the product for the client who says every cream feels too heavy. That is a recurring complaint with combination or quickly reacting skin.
The gel and the creams in the Softly line are not competitors but alternatives: the same intention, a different texture. Which one fits shows up faster in the treatment room than on paper.
The jar holds 50 ml. Medex does not release a full INCI list; only the active substance is known.
