L’Acide en Argile de l’Océan: a gentle clay peel without a red face

A peel that purifies without overtaxing the skin: that is the premise of this gentle clay peel from the Charlotte Sophie Cosmétique line. You work with a jar of 150 ml, suitable for all skin types, including darker skin, on which light patches quite often appear after a peel.

The base is kaolin, china clay of a refined quality. This clay has a strong absorption capacity and takes up sebum residues, dirt and skin microbes. The skin is cleansed and detoxified deep into the pores in this way and afterwards feels soft and smooth.

Salicylic acid works keratolytically and antiseptically in higher concentrations and counteracts heavy keratinisation. Capryloyl glycine and undecylenoyl glycine add to that: they inhibit the activity of the enzyme 5-alpha-reductase, by which sebum production decreases, and kill the skin bacterium Propionibacterium acnes. Two points of attack that come in handy with impure skin.

It also contains red wine extract, a concentrate of polyphenols such as resveratrol, flavonoids, catechins and procyanidins. It protects against stress factors such as air pollution, UV and fatigue. Red alga Chondrus crispus retains moisture, improves the barrier function and, with its polysaccharides, gives a velvety soft feel.

Use this peel with judgement: not weekly, but now and then, according to the separate treatment protocol of the line. With it you make the skin receptive to the actives you apply afterwards, without your client leaving the salon with a red face.
