Medex Protective Hydermios 50 ml: nourishing day cream for dehydrated skin

Being indoors is harder on the skin than it seems. Central heating, office work, retail spaces and neon lighting dry it out, which makes the skin age faster than suits its age. This nourishing day cream is the answer to that: protection against drying out, plus a uv filter against sun and neon light.

The emulsifier Polyglyceryl-2 Stearate is certified according to Ecocert/COSMOS and matches the natural skin lipids. It strengthens the skin barrier, which can be read off from the reduced moisture loss through the skin, measured as TEWL.

There has been no economising on oils. Sweet almond oil is mildly occlusive, preserves the moisture balance and supplies palmitoleic acid; shea butter softens and is rich in the vitamins A, E and F; babassu oil from the Amazon rainforest is rich in lauric acid and was traditionally used for wound healing.

The plant extracts do the rest. German chamomile soothes, lemon balm supports recovery after uv and environmental damage thanks to rosmarinic acid, horsetail strengthens the connective tissue and sage is anti-inflammatory. Urea and sodium lactate bind water, niacinamide builds the ceramides in the horny layer and micronised titanium dioxide reflects uv-a and uv-b.

At home the client applies this nourishing day cream last in the morning, before make-up. The product comes in an airless dispenser of 50 ml.
