Essential Oil Hydermios: essential oils for the moisture-poor skin
An aromatic treatment normally asks for mixing and dosing. With these six ampoules of 5 ml that work has already been done: the composition of the essential oils is attuned to the moisture-poor skin, so that you open the ampoule and can get to work directly.
Sweet almond oil forms the carrier and is well chosen for this skin type. The oil softens, is mildly occlusive and thereby lowers the transepidermal moisture loss. She consists largely of unsaturated fatty acids, about 69 percent oleic acid and 23 percent linoleic acid, and contains palmitoleic acid, which supports the cell regeneration.
The essential oils determine the character and the scent. Lavender calms, works antiseptically and antimicrobially and promotes the night’s rest. Geranium is antibacterial and fungicidal and relaxes. Ylang ylang, obtained from the blossoms of Cananga odorata, brings the sebum production into balance and has a calming reputation in aromatherapy.
Calendula, better known as marigold, has been described since the twelfth century for its calming action on the skin; that rests above all on the esters of faradiol. St John’s wort oil closes the series: soothing, calming and aimed at the repairing capacity of the skin.
Working with these oils is a benefit for body and mind alike, as every therapist notices from the reaction of the client. Apply at most a quarter of an ampoule at a time.
