Medex Lotion Hydermios 120 ml: lactic acid lotion for moisture-deficient skin

The step after the cleansing determines how the skin takes up the rest of the care. This lactic acid lotion keeps the pH value in the right balance and restores the natural barrier of the skin, which is necessary for the preservation of a good skin condition.

L-lactic acid does most of the work in that. It is the natural stereoisomer that also occurs in the human body and that you find in fruit and in dairy products such as yoghurt. It stimulates the production of new cells in the epidermis and in a stereoselective way provides the biosynthesis of ceramides: more ceramides in the horny layer means a firmer lipid barrier and therefore less dehydration.

Of the alpha hydroxy acids, L-lactic acid moreover gives the best results with hyperpigmentation. In higher concentrations it counteracts the production of tyrosinase, the enzyme that sets pigment formation in motion, by which the very first step of that process is blocked.

Witch hazel calms and soothes with tannins and glucosides and acts astringently. Allantoin has a favourable influence on the moisture balance, works keratolytically and stimulates the production of new epidermal cells, by which the skin regenerates and becomes smoother and softer.

Use this lotion morning and evening after the cleansing and before the day or night cream. If you work with a mask, the lotion comes afterwards. The pump bottle contains 120 ml and doses sparingly.
