Pro-vitamin A serum for dry and flaky skin

This pro-vitamin A serum is part of the Serum Repair Therapy by Medex, a range of concentrated serums that you use as a course alongside ordinary daily care.

The active substance comes from Daucus Carota Sativa — carrot. That extract is a natural source of vitamin A, in the form known as pro-vitamin A. The skin converts that form itself.

Medex calls the serum suitable for every skin type, and in particular for dry, delicate and flaky skin. That last one is the complaint for which you reach for this serum in the treatment room.

You apply a few drops to the skin twice a day, with your usual day and night cream over them. The serum does not replace that cream, it works underneath it.

According to Medex the penetration of the active substances is strong enough to use the serum on men’s skin and darker skin as well.

The Serum Repair Therapy is meant as an in-between step: more intensive than a cream, but without mesotherapy or a cosmetic procedure. For many clients that is exactly the question they come in with.

With pro-vitamin A comes one practical warning that Medex does not give itself: products with vitamin A are usually used in the evening and go badly with unprotected sun exposure. Advise a day cream with a filter alongside it.
