Ocean Bath: thalasso seaweed bath of pure Fucus vesiculosus
Ocean Bath is a thalasso seaweed bath that you can also use as a wrap. The base is pure Fucus vesiculosus, a brown-green alga that is rich in minerals and trace elements such as magnesium, potassium, iodide, iron and zinc, and that also contains vitamins A, C and E and omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids.
Those minerals improve the circulation and enliven the tissue, so that waste products are removed more quickly through better lymphatic drainage. This makes the treatment slimming, firming and highly relaxing, entirely in the tradition of the thalasso and spa treatment with warm water or wrap film. The alginates in the alga also regulate the moisture in the skin.
For one bath of normal size you reckon on approximately 250 gram. First mix the seaweed with a little warm water into a paste and stir it through the bath water. For a wrap you mix it into a creamy pulp.
Keep the treatment time to fifteen to twenty minutes and no longer. The best temperature is 36 to 37 degrees for relaxation and remineralisation, and 38 to 39 degrees for the slimming effect. Then let the client rest for a quarter of an hour.
In the pure alga the manufacturer measures approximately 0.1 percent iodine, present as iodide. For healthy adults occasional use is without risk, but people with a thyroid disorder, pregnant women, women who are breastfeeding and young children only take this bath after permission from a doctor.
Store the seaweed in sealed packaging in a dry, cool place. The jar contains 5000 ml.
