Masque Softly: face mask for hypersensitive skin

Masque Softly is the face mask from the Softly line by Medex, made for extremely sensitive skin. The mask is perfume-free and holds moisture in the skin.

The active substance is kaolin, also called china clay — a refined grade of bolus alba. It is a cleansing powder clay that has long been used in skincare and that does not dry out the skin the way a sharper cleansing mask can.

Medex calls the mask suitable for all skin types, and especially for extra hypersensitive and ageing skin. That makes it a mask you can use broadly without switching per client.

During the treatment you apply the mask in a thin layer and leave it on for ten to twenty minutes. Then you remove it with plenty of water. Work in two steps: first take off most of it with tissues or a spatula, then finish with sponges.

So count on a quarter of an hour of contact time in your appointment. That is also the moment when you can fit in a hand or scalp massage without the treatment taking any longer.

Keep the contact time within the twenty minutes Medex mentions, especially on a skin that reacts quickly. Letting this mask dry out completely is not the intention.
