Premium Crème de la Mer: premium day cream with gold and caviar

For maturing skin this is the crowning piece of the Charlotte Sophie Cosmétique line: a rich, full premium day cream with colloidal gold, caviar and sea extracts, finished with uv filters up to SPF 15. The jar of 150 ml comes with eight ampoules of Spécialité d’Argireline of 5 ml.

Porphyra umbilicalis, a red alga from the Atlantic Ocean, supplies very stable mycosporine amino acids that are naturally used to prolonged uv-A above open water. They protect the skin cells right into the DNA and the cell membranes. Phytol from moss extract complements this: it protects the collagen structures and strengthens the skin barrier in aged and stressed skin.

Gold slows down collagen breakdown and improves elasticity; caviar extract brings amino acids, fatty acids, oligopeptides and trace elements as nourishment for recovery at cell level. Vitamin E in the stable D-alpha-tocopheryl acetate form protects the lipids of the cell membranes and acts favourably on the moisture balance and microcirculation.

The enclosed ampoules contain Argireline and Inyline. Argireline blocks the presynaptic transmission of stimuli to the small mimic muscles, Inyline does that on the other side of the synapse. Together they target expression wrinkles such as crow’s feet and forehead wrinkles. The manufacturer refers to published research in which Argireline 10 per cent gave 30 per cent wrinkle reduction after thirty days compared with placebo.

You apply this premium day cream in the morning. If the skin needs an extra boost of energy, a few drops from the ampoule go underneath; store ampoules cool. In the salon you follow the separate treatment protocol, and daily cleansing with Lait de la Mer Emollient gets more out of it.
